The edible Food Fest in Orange features an enriching and delicious celebration of earth to table foods with a special focus on the region’s unique and trailblazing role in the sustainable foods movement. This family-friendly, day-long event, will bring together leaders in the thriving local food movement in the Piedmont and throughout Virginia for an unforgettable day of interactive demonstrations, displays, tastings, live music and family entertainment.

Dash 4 Trash
Dash for Trash is an event that is co-sponsored by the Orange Downtown Alliance and the Orange County Litter Control Committee. Dash for Trash gives residents, families, clubs, businesses, and organizations the opportunity to help clean up downtown Orange while enjoying some friendly competition with other teams. Dash for Trash is aimed at preventing future littering through increased awareness of Orange County’s anti-litter laws.
Trashy Ribs & Blues

Think thick, juicy, dripping ribs, coleslaw, beans, rolls and cold, oh-so-cold, beverages. Then, while you’re wiping the sauce from your face and fingers you hear some of that solid, harmonica-based, funky blues from three well-known blues bands and you can’t help tapping your feet and smiling. Get it? A blues and ribs festival right here in downtown Orange immediately following the Dash 4 Trash.
Easter Egg Hunt
All children under the age of 6 are welcome to a free, supervised old-fashioned Easter Egg Hunt in Taylor Park, downtown Orange. Come fill your basket with treat-filled, colorful eggs and meet the Easter Bunny in person.
Halloween Trick or Treat
An evening full of Halloween festivities for every one of all ages. The annual children’s downtown Trick or Treating starts at 3:00pm. Main Street is closed off allowing safe entertainment and candy giveaways to children of all ages. While the children are walking downtown they’ll be greeted by The Good Witch, The Scarecrow, The Wizard and Roxy the Clown. Cinderella will also be there with music, dancing and face painting. Some of the other things going on that day include a Child Safety Fair, Barrel Train Rides, and St. Thomas’s 12th annual Free Book Fair in Taylor Park, where church members dress in costume and distribute free books to the children.
Farmers Market
The Orange County Farmers Market is located in downtown Orange in the Faulconer’s parking lot on Rt. 15 just north of Main Street. This family-friendly market is growing to become a destination for residents and visitors to the area. There are arts & crafts, fresh produce, eggs, garden plants, baked goods, homemade breads, fresh coffee, pastries, flowers, garden products, food vendors, locally made wine, grass fed meats, herbs and more. Open from the first Saturday in May until the last Saturday in October. Vendors are invited.
Orange for the Holidays
A three-day multi-event celebrating the holiday season with a multi-church choir presentation and Bake sale, the Santa’s Trail Scavenger Hunt, a Winter’s Farmers Market, Christmas Parade, a Window Decorating Contest and the Memorial Tree Lighting..
Kids Fun Run
A one-mile route through the Town of Orange for children up to 13 years old. Prizes awarded at the end of the race. All the features of an adult race – time clock, numbered race bibs, etc.
